It’s back to league action for the Clapton CFC women’s first team following last Sunday’s 1-0 cup win away at Hackney WFC in the middle of a storm.
It was a hugely encouraging first season in the sixth tier with a fourth placed finish. We’ll be looking to build on that despite last week’s setback, losing on opening day.
We are still top of the table, although level on points with second-placed Brentford and with Dorking Wanderers sat in third with four games in hand.
On Sunday, the women’s first team travel to AFC Whyteleafe, in a village set in the leafy hills of East Surrey.
