Clapton CFC registered two teams into Girls United’s International Women’s Day Tournament at Powerleague Shoreditch, an annual five-a-side fundraiser to support their mission of creating safe spaces for girls to play football.

Now, you may know us as the ‘Cageys’ but this was the first time we’ve ever actually played competitive 5-a-side football…in a cage.
You might have already seen the celebrations online, but the Clapton Cageys 5-a-side team have won some silverware.
They finished the season as runners up, and also lifted the tournament trophy in Amsterdam in the middle of the season.
An outburst of Collective Joy and Radical Happiness from all the Clapton CFC players in attendance, who celebrated by running onto the pitch and into a jumping, screaming group embrace.
Football finally returned to The Old Spotted Dog Ground, and a great time was had on a bright, sunny day and a stonking £350 was raised.
