Actonians Reserves vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Sunday, April 13 2025 with a 2pm kick off at the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub, Popes Lane London W3 8LQ
The Clapton CFC Women’s First Team head to West London on Sunday looking to avenge our agonising defeat against Actonian Reserves on the opening day of the season.
This is the second last game of the league season, and the last away game with just Brentford at home to come after this, but of course we still have a cup final three weeks after that too.
CCFC have hit a good run of form with two wins and a draw in the space of a week. We’ve also won four of the last six games so we’re looking to end the season strongly and hopefully lift some silverware.
About the opposition
Actonians LFC was founded in 1998 as Chiswick United, before becoming Acton Sports Club four seasons later and then in 2008 part of Old Actonians, a men’s club formed in 1925. They now have multiple women’s and girls’ teams. The women’s first team are in the fourth tier FA Women’s National League Division One South East and play at Middlesex FA headquarters at Rectory Park in Northolt.
Form guide
Actonians Reserves were promoted two seasons ago as champions – in fact that was their third promotion in succession. Last season they finished in sixth place and this season are looking likely to finish eighth. They’ve had some impressive cup wins too – against higher division Barking and at Soccer Elite Football Academy, who we played a few weeks ago.
Previous meetings
Last season’s away game ended in a 2-0 win. At the Old Spotted Dog Ground, both our meetings have ended in wins for Actonians, last season 5-1 and this season 1-0 through an injury time winner. However, we did win in the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy semi-final 3-0 at our then home, the Stray Dog.
Players to watch
Former, Cheltenham Town, Fulham and Sport London e Benfica midfielder Jessica Wadey is top scorer with six goals.
