The Clapton CFC Men’s First Team will face Thetford Town at home after today’s second round FA Vase draw.
The visitors are fourth in the Eastern Counties League Premier Division – one level above Clapton – having lost out on promotion in the play-offs last season.
The tie will take place at the Old Spotted Dog Ground on Saturday, November 9, which means our league game on that day at home vs Halls Athletic is postponed and will be rescheduled.
In only our second FA Vase campaign we have beaten two former winners, Hoddesdon Town on penalties and then higher level Stansted.
Meanwhile Thetford have beaten Cornard United 6-1 and Swaffham Town 2-1 so far in the Vase.
We’re still six rounds from Wembley and it’s about as tough a draw as you could get but the dream is still alive…
