Barking FC vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Wednesday, July 24 2024 with an 8pm kick off at Mayesbrook Park, Lodge Avenue, Dagenham, Essex, RM8 2JR.

A few days after a very promising 5-2 win against higher level Sutton United, the Clapton CFC Women’s First Team take on more tier 5 opposition in Barking.

Two of our new signings made their friendly debuts on Sunday, with Kaylee Shurety impressing at the back and Rebekah Higgins scoring two from midfield. Familiar faces Marta Boiro, Emily Link and Taiyah Evans also scored.

Opposition

Barking play one level above us, but have been moved sideways for next season from the Eastern Region Women’s Football League into the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League. Last season they finished seventh. Watch out for striker Laura Bunton, who has scored at least 30 goals every season since joining Barking in 2020.

Previous meetings

It’s our first clash with their women’s first team, although the men’s teams have met each other in a friendly before.
