On Sunday the Clapton CFC women’s first team will begin life in the sixth tier after last season’s promotion.
The 11-team London & South East Regional Women’s League Division One North will feature four teams that we’re meeting again, and six new opponents.
We renew rivalries with Brentford and Dulwich Hamlet Reserves, who were promoted from the Greater London Women’s Football League the season before we were.
Dorking Wanderers also lie in wait, having beaten us 1-0 in the Capital Women’s Cup final, while we have an East London derby with Hackney, who we’ve faced in friendlies.
Leatherhead, Richmond Park, Sport London E Benfica and Watford Development all remain in the division from last season.
Denham United and Whyteleafe join the division having both been relegated by just one point in a very tight fifth tier division.
Walton & Hersham, previously known as Walton Casuals, were due to line up but have sadly withdrawn before the season begins.
The league season starts for CCFC with two away trips, firstly to Brentford at Bedfont Sports FC on Sunday, August 21, then Denham United up in Uxbridge on August 28.
