Recently, Clapton Community Football Club and Clapton Football Club settled an intellectual property dispute.
As part of this settlement, CCFC have agreed to make some changes to make even more explicitly clear that we are not, and have never been, connected to the historic Clapton Football Club.
Specifically, we will update our club badge and home kit, so neither incorporates red and white vertical stripes. We will also no longer be using ‘the Tons’ as our nickname.
Members will get the chance to choose our new logo and home kit.
Existing club merch featuring the current badge is no longer on sale, though we’ll have new merch on sale in due course.
Members of CCFC also voted 98% in favour of changing two club rules as a result of the settlement.
Clapton Community Football Club was formed in 2018 and has grown massively since, with over 1700 members owning and running the club.
Hundreds of children and adults train with our club each week. We also have eight competitive teams competing in women’s, men’s and junior football.
We look forward to playing competitive football at London’s oldest senior football ground, the Old Spotted Dog in Forest Gate, as soon as we can.
We ask all members, supporters and football fans to respect the differences between the two clubs.
