Thanks to all spectators who dug deep at half-time on Saturday to help buy presents for children who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas Day.
For 44 years, the Christmas Toy Appeal has collected toys and cash so they can distribute presents to needy children across Newham.
Since 2015, Clapton fans have backed the campaign. Above you can see CCFC player-manager Geoff Ocran (right) shaking the bucket that year when he was captain of Clapton FC.
This year is no exception, and the men’s first team game against AVA on Saturday was our designated bucket shake game.
A stunning £355.94 was donated, in notes and coins, including £60 raised from a whipround at one supporter’s workplace.
In total we’ve raised £2354.97 directly over the years, while fans have also donated to the main online fundraising page too.
This year the organisers, charity Ambition, Aspire, Achieve (AAA) and Newham Recorder, want to help 3000 children.
Together we can make a real difference for Newham’s most disadvantaged, vulnerable and at-risk children this Christmas.
The fundraising page is here if anyone missed the game and wanted to donate directly.
