Clapton CFC women’s first team are hosting a friendly on Sunday and are welcoming fans as a trial ahead of the new season.

The Club’s Covid-19 committee have devised a plan to get a limited number of spectators into the Stray Dog for the game against Hackney WFC as safely as we can.

If this trial event goes well, we will be able to gradually allow more supporters into men’s and women’s home games, which are only a few weeks away.

Here’s what you need to know…

Before the day

Entry is only by advanced ticket from claptoncfc.co.uk/store

There will be a maximum of 100 tickets available for this trial event, with a maximum of four per person if you are booking for your household. The details entered when booking tickets will only be used, if necessary, for NHS Track and Trace.

Members will be given the opportunity to book first, via the newsletter, before we post on social media.

Entry, as usual is free, but with donations welcome. You can choose to take the free tickets or donate up to £3 per ticket at the time of online registering, entirely up to you.

There will be no entry without a ticket, which you can display on your phone, or print as necessary. Please don’t come without a ticket.

Please only book tickets if you are definitely attending the game. If circumstances change and you can’t make it, please contact us merch@claptoncfc.co.uk for a refund and so we can release the ticket.

On the day

Follow all guidance on travelling and social distancing in getting to the Stray Dog (Mask up on public transport).

Kick off is at 2pm and gates open at 1.30pm. Remember that entry will take a bit longer so please come earlier than the usual last minute rush.

You will need to queue at 2m distance on the path at the Stray Dog entrance for the no-contact digital thermometer, and for your ticket to be checked.

We will have hand sanitiser at the entrance, but you’re welcome to bring your own of course.

When you are inside the Stray Dog, please make sure you space out 2m around the ground. We can’t congregate in groups outside our own social bubble.

There is no ban on singing but Matchday Centres have asked that no alcohol be brought to the game, so please be sensible.

The Matchday Centre bar won’t be open, and the toilets will be available from the side entrance. Check for signs or ask directions if you’re unclear where.

Please follow any instructions from Clapton CFC match day volunteers on the day. It’s a thankless task and co-operation will be appreciated.

Continue to be respectful of other people throughout the day. Clapton is a community and we want to be able to offer a safe environment for everyone – including those who are more vulnerable. 

The Comms committee will be looking to live stream the game on YouTube for those that can’t make it.
