The Clapton CFC Men’s First Team have reached the final of the SCEFL Division One Cup.
It comes after the 2-1 win against Meridian VP in the semi on Tuesday, following wins against SC Thamesmead and Halls Athletic in earlier rounds.
The opponents will be either Faversham Strike Force or Forest Hill Park, who play their semi-final on March 26.
No venue or date for the final has been set yet but we have requested for it to be on a a Saturday, rather than midweek.
The cup was launched last season, when Lewisham Borough lifted the inaugural trophy. They beat Larkfield & New Hythe 3-2 in the final, which was held on a Tuesday night at a neutral venue, Corinthians FC’s ground in Longfield in Kent.
This will be the team’s fourth cup final, two of which have been won on penalties against Hilltop and Kensington Dragons. The other one ended in a defeat against Catholic United.
