Our first Open Volunteer Day at the Old Spotted Dog Ground last Sunday was a huge success! We welcomed a mix of first-time visitors, long-time supporters, and regulars, all coming together to tackle a range of important tasks.
Highlights from the day:
- Teaching people how to paint pitch lines.
- Sorting, tidying, and mouse-proofing our black container
- Collecting three large bags of litter and cigarette butts from around the ground (please clean up after yourselves!)
- Improving path accessibility for wheelchair users
- Lots and lots of gardening
Get Involved!
The Old Spotted Dog Ground is your back garden and social space. Clapton CFC fans are excellent at treating it with the respect it deserves, but if you’re able to put in a bit more effort to help maintain and improve our space, please get involved!
These sessions are a great opportunity for anyone to get involved in running Clapton CFC. We’re committed to breaking down the outdated “macho” stereotype of groundskeeping. We welcome people of all abilities and are working to build an inclusive committee where underrepresented voices feel empowered to take on leading roles.

Our Open Volunteer Sessions take place on the last Sunday of every month from 11am to 2pm so the next one will be March 30.
