Clapton CFC Women’s First Team will face Ashford United in the second round of the London & South East Regional Women’s League Trophy.

The tie against our Kent visitors – who play one division above – takes place at the Old Spotted Dog Ground on Sunday, February 2. Kick off is 2pm.

We have met Ashford twice before, so we’ll be looking for third time lucky. In 2022/23 season, we lost 1-0 in the Women’s FA Cup in front of 500 spectators in one of our first games at the Old Spotted Dog Ground.

We then faced them again in the final of this very competition at Maidstone United’s ground. We came back from 3-0 down to take the game to extra time, only to lose 5-3, in front of a crowd of 375.

This is our very last chance of cup glory this season, having exited the Women’s FA Cup, Capital Cup and the London & South East Regional Women’s League Cup.
