Clapton CFC Women’s First Team retain the FSA Women’s Trophy

Clapton CFC Women’s First Team lifted the FSA Women’s Trophy for a second season in a row on Saturday.

The Football Supporters’ Association runs three annual invitational cup competitions which only feature supporter-owned football clubs.

For the second season in a row, the Clapton CFC Women’s First Team were invited to compete.Emily Link And after last season’s home win against FC United of Manchester, we managed to retain the silverware with a 3-1 win away at Enfield Town.

Both CCFC and the Towners were fielding scratch sides but goals from Emily Link (2) and new defender Kaylee Shurety and some spectacular saves from Chelsie Sparks won us the trophy.

Previously the Men’s First Team has lost twice in the Brian Lomax Cup – against FC United of Manchester in 2023 and Enfield Town in 2018.

Thank you to the FSA for the invite.
