Clapton Community FC vs Fisher FC takes place on Tuesday, July 23 2024 with a 7.45pm kick off at the Old Spotted Dog Ground, Forest Gate, East London.

We’re delighted to welcome Fisher FC to the Old Spotted Dog Ground for a long-overdue first meeting of our two fan-owned clubs.

Pre-season for the Clapton CFC Men’s First Team so far has seen a 7-0 win over Waltham Forest Borough in Hackney; a 3-0 defeat against Woodford Town in Woodford Green; a 2-1 defeat in Madrid against CD Independiente de Vallecas; a 1-1 draw with Harlow Town in Cheshunt; and a 4-2 defeat against Cheshunt, also in Cheshunt.

However, this is the team’s first friendly of the summer at our OSD home, ahead of the season’s start on Saturday, August 3.

Opposition

Fisher FC is a supporter owned and run football club originating from Bermondsey. It’s a reboot of the famous Fisher Athletic, who reached the heights of the Conference before going out of business.

So far in pre-season the Fish have beaten higher level Redbridge 1-0 and Sutton Common Rovers 5-3; drawn 2-2 with near neighbours Dulwich Hamlet and an amazing 5-5 with Harlow Town; and lost 2-1 to Witham Town and 2-0 to AS London, formerly known as Park View.

Previous meetings

This will be our first meeting with Fisher. In fact it’s our first ever meeting with a Southern Counties East Football League side – the league we’re being moved to – although Fisher are in the Premier Division and we’re Division One. (That’s the first aside from Tower Hamlets, who have moved to the SCEFL with us).
