The Clapton CFC Women’s First Team are preparing for the new 2024/25 season with trial dates for new players and plenty of pre-season friendlies booked in.

The highlight of the summer will be the visit to Independiente de Vallecas in Madrid on Saturday, July 13, a double header with the Men’s First Team.

The team will defend the Supporters Direct Shield, the annual competition between fan-owned clubs which we won against FC United of Manchester last summer. We’ll play Enfield Town on Saturday, July 27, while their men’s team play Hendon on the same day for the men’s version, the Brian Lomax FSA Trophy.

We will also play the Leyton Orient first team for the first time in a big East London derby at our Old Spotted Dog Ground on Sunday, August 4.

Other home friendlies see us play Sutton United on Sunday, July 21; Welling United on Wednesday, August 7; and Sport London e Benfica on Sunday, August 11.

We also visit Barking on Wednesday, July 24 – one of four games against higher division sides in our summer schedule.
