Clapton CFC men’s first team take on Legends at the Old Spotted Dog Ground

After 42 league games, 3 cup games and 1 play-off semi-final for the Clapton CFC men’s first team season there’s one more game in the calendar.

A season that started in July after promotion ended with the 3-2 play-off defeat away at Wormley Rovers at the end of April.

Now the current players will take on a CCFC Legends team on Saturday, May 11 at 2pm at the Old Spotted Dog Ground.

Players lining up for the Legends team include Eliot Crosbie, Samba Badjana, Arthur Wright, Jordan Odofin, Louis Rene, Jake Stevens, Phil Blakesley, Andrew Lastic, Ellick Coleman and Alex Akanbi.

Current players and coaches like Dean Bouho, Justin Cummins, Geoff Ocran and Jon Akaly who have been with the club from its foundation will be in the Legends team too.

Geoff Ocran, Sham Darr and Neil Day will be managing the Legends with Ruudy, Jack Mellors and Matt Bailey managing the current team.

The current CCFC team will feature players such as Noah Adejokun, Fred Taylor, Joel Akuwudike, Junia Charlton, Fionn Glancy and Felix Murray.

The game is set to be very competitive – it won’t be a post-season kickabout – and the Legends Trophy will be lifted by the winners.

No tickets are needed and it’s pay what you want. The Clubhouse bar will be open from 1pm to 6pm and Fusion Foods will be there.

Some of our Youth Training players will take part in a small-sided game before the Legends match and a penalty shoot-out at half-time.

Unfortunately we’ve not been able to organise a women’s team game due to player availability. However, this will be the main aim for next summer.

Still to come at the Old Spotted Dog Ground

On Thursday, May 16, London Jaguars and Crondall meet in the final of the Dickie Davies Cup at the OSD. Kick off is 7.30pm and entrance is £5 on the door or £4 advance from here. A big crowd is expected.

On Sunday, May 19, the CCFC Men’s Development team face league leaders Azteca. A win would open up the possibility of overtaking Azteca and pipping them to the title. This game has been moved to the Old Spotted Dog Ground with kick off at 10.30am.

Then on Sunday, May 26, it’s our end of season awards at the Old Spotted Dog Ground Clubhouse.
