Southend Manor FC vs Clapton Community FC takes place on Saturday, November 11 2023 with a 3pm kick off at Southchurch Park Arena, Northumberland Cres, Southend-on-Sea SS1 2XB.
The Clapton CFC men’s first team head to the seaside on Saturday for another tough league away day.
Wednesday’s draw at Tower Hamlets means we are nine games unbeaten away from home, part of a 13 game unbeaten run overall in the league.
This will be the first match for Manor’s new management of Nick Wibrow and Mark Royal so we’ll need to beware of the new manager bounce.
The opposition
Formed in 1955 by East Londoners Doris and Gil Medcalf who were previously involved at Eton Manor, they have played at Southchurch Park home since 1985, when they joined the Essex Senior League. They won the title in 1991 and stayed in the ESL till relegation last season. Their best run in the FA Cup was in 2011, reaching the fourth qualifying round before bowing out to Kettering Town. New owner Jerry Omango – another East Londoner – took over in 2019 and has improved the ground facilities no end while building up the youth section to a whopping 17 teams.
