Since Clapton CFC’s first game in 2018, we have operated a donate-what-you-want admission policy for men’s and women’s home games, with a suggested £3 donation for waged adults. Five seasons and two promotions later, the Clapton CFC men’s first team have now reached Step 6, the tenth tier of the men’s pyramid.
FA rules state we must charge a minimum admission charge for competitive games at this level though we may be able to opt out of this for up to three games per year. In the Eastern Counties League Division One South, the minimum charge for adults for league games is set at £4. There is no maximum, but most clubs will charge £5 or £6 with the highest at £8.
This means we have to slightly adjust our admission prices:
Admission: £4
Concessions: Pay what you want
Under 13s: Free
Concessions include:
- Clapton CFC members
- Newham residents
- Teenagers (13 to 19)
- Over 60s
- Students and apprentices
- Trade union members
- Unemployed people and those on low income
- People with disabilities and health conditions
- Refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants
No ID is required to qualify for concessions, we will take your word for it. At the turnstile, just say that you are a concession (you don’t need to say which) and pay what what you want.
If you do not fit any of the above concession categories, we must charge you £4 by FA rules.
There is no minimum price set for the division that our women’s first team play in. However, we want to maintain equity with the men’s first team, particularly since the women’s first team are our highest placed team in the sixth tier of the pyramid. So we will now be suggesting a £4 donation for waged adults for women’s first team games too.
We will continue to print programmes for all competitive women’s and men’s first team home games, which are free to take, but donations welcome to help cover printing costs.
