On Saturday, Clapton CFC’s open access women and non-binary players took part in a friendly against Actonians LFC at the Old Spotted Dog.
It was a brilliant game, with a super friendly atmosphere – helped by the teams mixing in to even out numbers.
Even though many of the players had played in very few 11-a-side games before, there were lovely goals, great saves and stellar performances all round.
The friendly was part of the #GreenFootballWeekend and the match raised money for a local community wild swimming pond fundraiser.
You can find out more about the East London Waterworks Park project and donate to their fundraiser as well here.
Thanks for the visit Actonians – we’re looking forward to the return match!
