The Clapton CFC men’s first team make the long journey up to Buckinghamshire on Saturday in our final chance of cup glory this season.
Old Bradwell United, based in Bradwell Village, a suburb of Milton Keynes, are our hosts in the third round of the Anagram Records Trophy.
The club was established in the late 1920s and joined the North Bucks League in 1930, moving to the South Midlands League in 1995.
They won the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two title last season but were unable to take up promotion due to lack of floodlights.
Indeed the club has never entered the FA Cup or FA Vase due to this, meaning the Anagram Records Trophy is a great chance for cup glory.
The Kingfishers have carried on where they left off last season by winning 10 out of 11 games this season, including 12-0 and 11-0 hammerings.
Scott Valentine netted 29 times last season and has continued that form this season, while 5 players are on 5 or more goals so far this season.
So they’re definitely a team who would grace a higher level, meaning the task couldn’t be harder for CCFC to upset the odds.
The Anagram Records Trophy – aka the Capital Counties Feeder League Trophy – is for teams in the south east of England who don’t qualify for the FA Vase.
CCFC beat Battersea Ironsides to progress to this stage, while United were handed a walkover win.

Travel
Due to the ASLEF strike on many train lines, getting to Old Bradwell by public transport is going to be incredibly complicated and a six-hour round trip from East London.
If you’re keen on going via a coach, or have spaces in a car, let us know. Email mensfirstteam@claptoncfc.co.uk
It’s around 1hr 15min by car from East London.
My gran and grampa were from New Bradwell as it became in late 60s, now MK.
Come on Brads!
