Goals from Adejokun brothers Noah and Josh and player of the match Arthur Wright sealed a see-saw home win for Clapton CFC men’s first team.
After 20 goals in their first two home games in the league, this clash in front of 357 on the Stray Dog was a comparatively low-scorer but no less of a thriller.
Player-manager Geoff Ocran‘s squad was missing last week’s hat-trick hero Aaron Yfeko due to family bereavement, but was boosted by the return of central defence rocks Jordan Odofin (starter) and Tafari Nicholas (sub) after injury.
Wright’s cool finish on eight minutes was all that separated the sides at half-time although the Tons could have been out of sight with Lewis Owiredu‘s pace in particular causing havoc.
Previously unbeaten Pitshanger Dynamo massively improved in the second half, however, and both sides scored twice each in a frenzied 20 minute spell.
First Finnian Racadio levelled for them, poking home from close range when a free-kick was not cleared properly.
Josh Adejokun soon put CCFC ahead again, only for Racadio to equalise again from the penalty spot. However, CCFC nudged ahead again through Noah Adejokun, set up perfectly by Wright.
Three points were secured as the defence saw out a last 25 minutes to leave us nestled in fifth in the table ahead of the visit to newly promoted team AVA on Saturday.
