The Clapton CFC Beginners team showed spirit, determination and a great deal of skill against a strong Wapping FC side but once again found themselves knocked out by a last minute goal.
Having begun slowly the Tons found themselves two goals down within 10 minutes and looked to be on course for a rout.
However, a goal-mouth scramble produced a flurry of chances, one of which Amy put past the Wapping keeper.
Shortly afterwards Hannah equalised with a truly fantastic long range strike, and could have added a winner in the second half but her super-strikes just missed the mark.
Unfortunately Wapping grabbed all three points with their last minute break.
Any disappointment was tempered by the players’ post-match reflection that they had lost the first game of the season to the same opponents 5-2. Progress!
