We are happy to announce the formation of the Clapton CFC Men’s Sunday Development team following a members’ vote.

95.5% of members who took part voted in favour of the proposal whilst 4.5% voted against.

The team will be managed by Justin Cummins. As well as being part of the first team squad, Justin has successfully run and coached previous Sunday teams including Downs FC.

Justin will be supported by assistant, Antoine Louis, with additional support from the first team coaching staff as needed. 

The team is a parallel to the new Women’s Development team which was recently approved by members and played its first game on Clapham Common last month.

In time it is hoped we could provide a full junior football infrastructure, to provide a pathway from youth football through to the development teams and ultimately to the men’s and women’s first teams.

The new team have been placed in Division 3 of the Hackney and Leyton League.

The matches will be played every Sunday at Hackney Marshes starting soon. Fixtures will be added to our website when they’re out.

Men’s first team player-manager Geoff Ocran hopes that we could attract young local talent who would eventually be able to train and play with the first team.
