Our clean-up sessions are back and we’re looking for volunteers to help get our TWO temporary grounds ship-shape for the new season.
We now have both the Stray Dog (the women’s team’s new home) and the Wadham Lodge Stadium (the men’s team’s new home) to spruce up. Fortunately they are next to each other.
Our first clean-up sessions of 2019/20 have taken place with dozens of members getting stuck in.
Thanks to all who came to our first clean-up session tonight.

Next one is this Saturday morning from 10am. Please join us as we make our two grounds as accessible as possible, pic.twitter.com/nptxdcevDy
The third session is on Wednesday, July 31st from 5pm onwards.
Come along if you can! Head to Wadham Lodge (Kitchener Road, Walthamstow, E17 4LL) and we’ll find a job for you.
Please bring with you a pair of gardening gloves and any tools you might have that could be useful. But if not, don’t worry, we’ll have spares. Wear suitable clothes.
There may be further clean-up sessions, depending on how we go.
We want to make the spectator areas as accessible as possible ahead of the new seasons, which will start in mid to late August for the men’s team and September for the women’s team.
Last summer, about 50 supporters came down in total to clear weeds and litter and paint fencing and the dugouts at the Stray Dog over half a dozen evenings.
We wish we had taken more before and after pictures because that doesn’t sound too much but it was a huge effort to get the Stray Dog into shape.
We cleared about eight skips worth of debris and reclaimed a pram, set of dumbbells, a roller blade and a parasol among many other hidden items.
